Geographic location:

Pakuashipi, which is the most remote of all the communities, is located 550 kilometres northeast of Sept-Ïles, on the western shore of the Saint-Augustin river, close to the mouth of the St. Lawrence River. It has a surface area of 4.47 hectares and is accessible by plane or by boat.

Characteristics:

In 2007, the communities of La Romaine and Pakuashipi passed resolutions of their respective band councils to indicate their withdrawal from the Mamu Pakatatau Mamit Assembly.

Infrastructures:

The community has infrastructures, namely a health centre, a community centre, a church, a school (preschool, primary and secondary levels), a community store, a youth centre, a community radio station, and an inn.
