Geographic location:

This community, which is the most remote of all, is located 550 kilometres northeast of Sept-Îles on the western shore of Saint-Augustin River, near the mouth of the St. Lawrence River. It has a surface area of 4.47 hectares and is accessible by plane or by boat.

Characteristics:

A member of the Mamu Pakatatau Mamit Assembly, the community is engaged in comprehensive territorial negotiations with the governments of Québec and Canada. Eighty percent (80%) of the population is under 35 years of age. In this community, traditional hunting, fishing and trapping activities take precedence over other activities.

Infrastructures:

The community has basic infrastructures, namely a health centre, a community centre, a church, a school (kindergarten, primary, secondary), a community store, a youth centre and a community radio station.
