Appointment
The Government of Québec is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Pierre Rousseau to the position of regional delegate for the North Shore within the context of the comprehensive territorial negotiations with the Innu communities of the Mamuitun Tribal Council and Nutashkuan.
In his capacity as regional delegate, Mr. Rousseau will have to make sure that the information from the negotiating table is conveyed to the population of the North Shore. He will also have to find out the concerns and proposals of citizens regarding the negotiations in order to convey and put them forward to Mr. Benoît Bouchard, representative of the regions.
A graduate of Université Laval in geodesic sciences, Mr. Rousseau founded a firm of land surveyors in 1976 and contributed, beginning in 1983, to the firm’s expansion by developing an expertise in urban development and planning. A recognized contractor, he also participated in the creation of three enterprises specialized in geodesy, the environment and information management respectively.
Mr. Rousseau is a particularly active member of his community. He has sat on several board of directors, in particular in his capacity as president-founder of the Corporation de valorisation des ressources de la
région de Baie-Comeau as well as chairman of the board of directors of the Service d'action entrepreneuriale de Manicouagan.
